Osinbajo Warns Supporters Against Insulting Tinubu.

As the race for the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential ticket heats up, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has urged his followers from criticizing or abusing Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s national leader and former governor of Lagos State.

Under Tinubu, Osinbajo served as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos. Both individuals are vying for the APC presidential nomination in 2023, which has sparked heated debate among their fans. Some Tinubu fans accused Osinbajo of being ungrateful for failing to back Tinubu’s presidential bid despite everything Tinubu had done for him politically.

According to sources close to the Vice President, Osinbajo is against anybody attacking Tinubu and has urged his followers: “Even if his supporters abuse my mother, don’t retaliate. On no account must he be insulted or denigrated.”

The northern emirs, who believe Osinbajo to have showed remarkable commitment to President Muhammadu Buhari, are also a crucial pillar of Osinbajo’s support base, according to insiders.

Apart from the emirs, the Vice President is claimed to have the support of four Northern Governors, two from the North-West and two from the North-Central. Tinubu, on the other hand, is reported to be more popular in the north.
